Weekend?

What weekend? Oh you mean that swift hiatus from work that involves running around like a mad thing trying to cook enough and wash enough stuff to get me through the next five days of work?
This is too much like adulthood for me!

I WORKED this weekend. And today too. I feel zombified. Or at least ready for chicken farming on some lonely island.

i am working at home today, which basically means working AND doing housework >_>

i'm sure we never signed up for this stuff!
and yeah, chickens MUST be less hassle!

I certainly didn't sign up for this D:

Although, chickens are gross. Can I be responsible for the vegetable garden and the kittens?

Yup, me too. 0900-0230 Sunday. That said, I sympathise with folks who feel that adult life takes over free time :/

Saturday and Sunday 6:45 to 19:00. All I went home for was food, shower, sleep. I hate weekends like that. I wouldn't grumble about weekends if it was 2 days work and 5 days free time, but NO... Life is a mean and evil five-year-old, pointing at me and laughing.

It's not life that mocks me, it's my chosen industry - software is a cruel master, games doubly so.

Ah well, at least this week I happen to have today and tomorrow off (not in way of replacing my weekend - I'm going to Manchester).

To get back on track: Gnommi, I tend to try and do all my housework/chores as early on Saturday morning as possible, so that it doesn't take over the whole weekend. I also do the ongoing things (washing up etc.) very often, so that there's never a whole pile of stuff which takes hours to do. It's not for everyone, though - I just find I handle boring work better in tiny chunks.

I try to keep on top of stuff too, but the 4 hours a day on the train every day tends to mean that when I get home from uni to the usual chores, I feel VERY prickly about then tidying up after someone who has a 10min walk to work. {grumble moan}

If I got back at a reasonable time every day then laundry and washing up after cooking dinner etc would be practical but often I don't get back until 22.00 and then need to be up and on the train again by 08.00.

I'm finding that at 35, my energy levels ain't what they used to be. I think I need a job nearer home to be honest.
