Scanner Darkly is pretty cool. Did you see Linklater's previous attempt at the same computer-assisted rotoscoping of a whole movie? Waking Life. I don't know, it might annoy the hell out of you. But it seemed the right way to present those stories. I think I got a lot more out of Scanner Darkly as a movie than as a novel.

Also it takes a certain kind of crazy person to go "Hey, that was hugely more labour intensive and expensive than I expected, so let's do it again"
