The back of the dress got finished sometime last week and now sports 5 beetles:

I also worked the cerambycid on the front a little more too, to bring the level of detail up to match the rest:

So now it's all done! My next project I think will be mostly whitework (though not in white!). Just waiting for the instruction books to arrive and then I'll start designing.
On the ear front, things are still wonky and refusing to improve at anything resembling quickly*.
I went to the ear, nose and throat specialist today, who did all kinds of cruel and unusual things to me (including doing some crazy manoeuvre that was rather like baptism being crossed with being upended backwards from a sitting position at the speed of light and being held upside-down. They did lots of tests and apparently I have a highly asymmetric head, with extremely acute hearing on the right side, poor vision on the right, and a wonky set of sinuses. They managed to provoke those weird neurological signs again though, so it's off to the MRI scanner with me on Friday, Just In Case.
Long story short, it's still possible I had labyrinthitis* that I am failing to compensate for due to my crazy head set-up and also possible there is Something More Sinister going on. Blah. So anyway by Friday I should know just how weird my head is at least.
* "it's only foreverrrrrrrrr, not long at allllllll"
