Earholes and embroideration

So. The balance thing still isn't clearing up: I got better for a while then reached a plateau, only to relapse quite badly around a fortnight ago (probably due in no small part to being inverted and generally treated like a gyroscope component by the ENT consultant).
Managed to make it out to an old entomological chum's wedding in Corfe Castle last weekend (and wore my finished beetle dress, wahoo!) which was lovely. However, I was completely zonked the next day and slept around 10 hours, and only managed 4 hours at work Monday.
Did have an MRI scan of my head done, that was interesting. It was a bit Clockwork Orange, crossed with a noise performance. They clamped my head in some white plastic cage thing, raised my feet higher than my head and slid me into a giant humming, clonking tube for half an hour with strict instructions to NOT MOVE. The laser sights running along my face were a bit perturbing. Results came back clear, which mean I don't have an acoustic neuroma: big relief.
Still leaves me in "what the hell is it and what can you do about it" limbo though. Am seeing head honcho ENT surgeon dude next week though so hopefully he will have a better idea.

The whitework project is coming along pretty well. Started with a plain bottle green dress from a charity shop, decided on a design, tarted it up and transferred it by taping to a window and tracing through.

Ended up with design traced in silver, outlined it all in split stitch, filled the branches with French knots (SO SATISFYING), satin stitched the foliage and now am trailing the unfilled leaf areas and putting in veins. Not quite sure where we are going yet, but quite pleased with progress.
So yeah, ear still rubbish but no brain or nerve tumours underlying, still embroidering like a demon.
