Bitch, get back in the kitchen and calculate me some Pi!

Yesterday I made Nigella's (well actually it's allegedly Sophie Grigson's), (Key) Lime Pie. Despite some Trauma With Eggs, it actually came out pretty well, though I think the digestive base might be better done with gingernuts as it's a little bland. This pie is also HUGE and extremely rich. Yum, pie for dinner for the next three days.

Also watched Dnevnoy Dozor (Day Watch) with some friends. I really enjoyed it, but whilst retaining its low-fi, gritty qualities it's not as well put together as Nochnoi Dozor (Night Watch), despite or perhaps because of having what appears to be an infinitely larger budget. However, if you've read the books, judging from my friends' recurrent irritable expostulations during the film, it probably has little in common with them. Also, if you haven't seen the first film, you'll probably be utterly lost in this one.

Today I am going to bite the bullet and block out the rest of the squares for this damn throw Afghan so that I can actually make it up and not just fall over heaps of crocheted squares all over the house!

Another low-key weekend then. They all seem to be that way these days since the alternative club scene in Southampton finally went up its own ass. At least it's cheap.
