Last day of freedom...

...conference tomorrow. Gah.

Just totally fried my brain watching Primer with teh Hobbit: an interesting and complex film that might have been really cool, except that you can't tell who is talking at any one time, which would really have helped. Still, I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.

Yeah, I kinda liked Primer, but I found it slow in parts and confusing in others.

They had a hard job to make it possible to follow the plot without too much exposition, so I guess it's quite impressive on the front.

yeah i really liked the "no dumbing down" of it, but the fact that everyone talked in identical monotones over each other scrambled an already complicated plot -_-

sometimes we had to stop the DVD and check with each other that we'd just heard or seen something right. we followed the basics ok, but need another viewing to work out the nuances

Right, I seem to remember it had unclear speech. Realistic, but annoying

Brick is very bad in that regard, the film was OK, but I had to strain to hear the mumbling of the cast over the background music.
