Went to Abeno Okonomi-yaki in Museum Street for lunch with prosepina today for a hard-earned catch-up, a fabbo late Xmas pressie AND fabuloso Omo-Yaki and garlic squid. Yum yum *burst*...

On the downside, the cells that took me hours to plate yesterday are contaminated with fungus: cue 2 hours scrubbing out the incubator and a further hour replating from frozen stock. Grr.

Oh, and the major experiments of my PhD so far have been scooped. Nevermind, eh?

Nothing like the site of cotton wool blobs in yer culture to invoke a frown.
Though so far, I've only been tending to pissy stuff like E.coli and P.Fluorescens

Yeah, my lecturer told me to plate closer to the bunsen to reduce the amount of nasties in the air.
I guess next week I'll see if that made a difference.
