So. I spend weeks working on the crappy paper. I get up early this morning to finish it off. I finish writing the figure legends after sweating blood on them and I get ready to submit the paper online. ONLY TO FIND THAT ALL MY Y-AXIS LABELS HAVE DISAPPEARED from every figure! WTF?! The only way to get them back will be to RECONSTRUCT ALL OF MY FIGURES FROM SCRATCH. The figures that took me WEEKS to get the right resolution and to iron out all of the kinks from FUCKING EXCEL. I GIVE UP.

Do you have an older backed up copy you can pull the Y-axis labels from? Did you try resizing the graph to see if the labels were just truncated?

Well, after investigation it seems that it's a display issue with my PC copy of Powerpoint. The copy I sent out to Mac users displays everything fine!

go figure

I hate Microsoft... did I mention that?

And as for back-ups, which one would you like!? I have lots, but they take a bit of getting at, cos I'm a good girl and most of them are offsite

awww, you certainly are a good girl :D I'm glad its just a display issue. I've been shaking my tiny fist at Microsoft products all day, in hopes that it would fix your problem.

I shake my fist at Microsoft every day I tell you. EVERY DAY.

I need more swear words to convey just how much I loathe Microsoft products

I probably risk death by saying this, but this seems a good reason to stop using Excel... There are a lot of other graphing codes out there.

I seriously dislike Excel and am campaigning for my supervisor to pay for Prism for me

I'm not sure what's appropriate for your field but I've ended up using IDL for a lot of data analysis and presentation.
