Am I the only one who gets scared by the sheer number of steps that can go wrong during Western Blotting?

its one of many with the nitrocellulose ;)
but yeah one of the ones with antibodies, if you choose to look at yer proteins that way

I've extracted with Tris/SDS (gloopy), sonicated (buzzy), quantified (purple and graphy), denatured and reduced (hot and smelly), electrophoresed (bubbly), blotted (pernickety!) and now I just have to identify my proteins (might involve a lot of serum and x-ray film-y).

the whole thing's taken me about a week so far and I have a feeling that one of my membranes did't saturate properly with transfer buffer, and I've lost the top two rungs of one of my standards.
