Several things in the last few weeks have persuaded me that the World has indeed Gone Mad, with or without being Mentioned In The Book Of Revelations. So. Chicken farming in the Orkneys anyone?

It's that or self-immolation, and I'm too old for histrionics.

a-HA I see what you did there!

Can one farm chickens in Texas? If so count me in. I quite like these curly ones (http://www.freewebs.com/professorchickensbreeds/frizzles.htm) but there are a lot of fine looking chickens (http://www.ruleworks.co.uk/poultry/gallery-chickens.asp) out there it seems.
I'm up for anything that doesn't involve Administration, Taxes or Politics. Capitals (?Capitols) intentional.

I saw a hilarious article (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18420831?ordinalpos=2&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum) this week, it's pretty much the only thing that cheered me up. Save a couple of nice ladies in the pub...

Um and something I read in Science today about lateral gene transfer in bdelloid rotifers (http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/320/5880/1210). AMAGAD GENE STEALING!!!11

Little things gotta keep you going, right?
Why can't it be Mary-Kate Olsen? I know I am wrong in the head... I KNOW!

Does chicken farming involve cats and ponies?

Yes! Definitely. Chicken farming sounds like the most pleasing job in the world right now. T T

not a fan of chickens. Look into their cold dead eyes and you'll see that they'd kill and eat you, and everyone you love.

At least it's comforting to know that my girlfiend has a plan for most scenarios. I always think of her when I read the bit where the wife learns bricklaying in the Kraken Wakes.

That's why one must farm chickens carefully ;)
I have lots of contingency plans for the apocalypse too, for which Chicken Farming In The Orkneys is largely a metaphor.
